House Hippo Charm

Would you like to welcome your very own house hippo into your home? I was lucky enough to find the house hippo nesting in my closet, after a bribe of peanut butter it agreed to pose for photos. Did you know? The house hippo’s diet consists of chips, raisins, and the crumbs from peanut butter on toast.

If you’re confused, you’re probably not Canadian. In the 90s, Concerned Children’s Advertisers ran a PSA ad about media literacy which tricked kids (myself included) into believing the house hippo was real to teach us to be critical about what we see on TV.

This house hippo is very real so decide between a swivel hook or phone charm strap to conveniently attach onto anything you want to add a personal touch to. Easily accessorize zipper pulls, backpacks, handbags, phones, keyrings, belt loops, rearview mirrors, anything. This cute hippo is flat on the bottom so it can sit on your desk, monitor, or car dashboard as well.

Handcrafted with love

Every clay charm and keychain is handmade for each order so please allow for slight variation from the photographs. Your house hippo will be completely unique and although I try my best to make them perfect there might be slight imperfections.

The hippo keychain is coated with UV resin which can yellow with long periods, or intense exposure, to UV and/or high heat; so please be careful.

Care Instructions

Wipe gently with a dust brush, dry or damp cloth. If necessary, hand wash with warm water and gentle cleansers.
